Atlantic Spanish mackerel

Description

Elongated body, greenish on top, silver on sides with multiple yellow to orange spots, silver to light grey on belly, uniform row of teeth on upper and lower jaws.  Common at 18 inches and 4-5 pounds, can grow up to 30 inches and 10-12 pounds

How to catch

Most commonly found in groups or schools early in the morning along beaches, jetties, and mouth of inlets, moving to deeper water during the day.  Best techniques are sight casting with spoons, jigs, or other lures on a jerked or straight fast retrieve
