Blackfin tuna

Description

Balckfin tuna in South Florida are found offshore and inshore year-round, usually mixed in with schools of false albacore or skipjack tuna.  The smallest of the tunas caught in the Atlantic, average size is around 5-10 pounds – though also found in excess of 40 pounds.  Oval shaped body, black backs, and yellow to bronze sides with large pectoral fins 

How to catch

Trolling; drifting live baits; when sighting schools feeding at the surface, casting lures with a high speed retrieval is very effective and efficient
