Little Tunny/ False Albacore

Description

The most common tuna in the Atlantic Ocean, found inshore and offshore often in schools at or near the surface; distinguished from other tuna by ‘worm-like’ markings on its back and dark spots near ventral fins. Commonly used whole, in strips, or in chunks as bait for sharks, wahoo, kings, mahi, snapper, and grouper.

How to catch

Trolling; drifting live baits; when sighting schools feeding at the surface, casting lures with a high speed retrieval is very effective and efficient.
